New Druid Forms2010-02-20 00:00:00Post your ideas for new druid forms here. I will try to find blizzard e-mail and I will send the best ideas to Blizzard.
Mine ideas are:
- Foenix (something to fly and fight)
- Fire master (something like fire elemental with fire abillities)
- Shapeshifting master (he's skills will be only to transform in some forms just for fun)I want a Yeti form that imitates the Death Knight class. Wouldn't that be kinda cool? How about polar bear form. make it a glyph for all i care just to look diffrent would be cool. And shouldn't we look like the war bear mount with the armor?
We need a cooler cat form also to go with dire bear. A sabercat or something.
Swimming form maybe a orca or shark. Travel form something other then a cat which we have a cat form for dps. That was a mistake from the start IMO. And how boss would it be if in travel form we can be mounted? And how boss would it be if in travel form we can be mounted?
Gross :p jk, I know what you mean, running lower lvls is kind of annoying, when you have to walk the whole way.
I agree completely that we should be able to change what the forms look likeI can totally see a glyph being added to change the look of bear or cat form, just like mage's glyph of penguin changes the look of polymorph. The only problem with this would be that everyone would get it, and thus look alike again.
The ultimate solution would be an option in the barber shop to change up the looks of your cat or bear...a white kitty with a mohawk! epic!I definitely like the Yeti idea, but how about a larger cat form, called Beast Lord. It would be a combination of a druid and a hunter, where you could be in a form and tame/summon pets.Or how about a Dire Cat form instead? I could sit here for hours thinking up new forms but Blizz doesn't care. No, they rather have us beg and plea for something "cool" xD
Anyone know if new forms are coming soon? Because if that's the case, I'll have to stop getting my hopes up.There were actually supposed to be glyphs to make your flight form look like a phoenix and your bear form like a polar bear and one for your cat form that made you look like a were wolf...maybe they will be added in future patches or maybe they were just rumors....either way i think they oughta add em so you can spice up your druid (I mean a purple cat/lion or brown bear only looks cool for a little bit then its old news....)actually tameing pets with a druid defeats the whole purpose of a hunter...i know i know noone cares but hear me out...Blizz gave each class something UNIQUE to make it stand out anywhere
Shamans-Totems mainly and can Melee OR spell DPS
Rogues-Stealth and their array of high dmg abilities
Druids-Shapeshifting (and able to perform EVERY aspect of a group)
Hunters-Pets, auto shot
Warriors-GREAT tanking capabilities and able to use EVERY weapon/piece of armor that isn' class specific
Paladins-Healing and tanking and is sometimes considered the best at both, and a wide range of useful buffs like their Auras
Mage-VERY high spell dmg and great CC
Warlock-Minions and able to do GREAT dmg with direct spells or DoTs and can make minions stronger
Priest-Can be healer DPS and used to be a mana battery however depending on talents you may be forced to choose between near unlimited mana (with moderate heals) or VERY strong heals but not as mana efficient (Hybrid IMO)
Death Knight-Can DPS or tank in any talent tree (each one focuses on a different aspect Blood=parry Frost=can absorb ALOT of dg Unholy=(from what i have been told) is more focused on all three primarily avoiding the dmg completely (dodge and parry)and can AoE tank effectively...
It may SEEM like some classes have more than the others but that is because of how it is listed...but if you were to give a druid the ability to tame beasts and such why make a hunter? or a warlock? The druid could EASILY keep the pet alive by stacking HoTs on it and take zero dmg....if you want to have a certain aspect then make the class that has said aspect..you want to tank Make a druid warrior paladin or Death Knight....DpS (any class can DPS nicely if done up right it all depends on how you would like to do it so there is no reason to go into that)...If you wanna heal make a pally, shammy, druid or priest...if you want a pet make a warlock hunter or Unholy DK (although the ghouls are not as strong as a hunters or a Warlocks pet)....It'd be nice if there were a fully combat-capable aquatic form instead of just a travel-only (and auto attack) aquatic form.
Perhaps something based on the hydra or, not quite as preferable, a crocolisk.
Outside of that single instance, however, the current forms cover healing, magical DPS, physical DPS, and tank, the 4 primary roles that other professions' primary role is to fill one or two slots of.
The only other role I can think of would, in some respects, be more of a tchotchke role than anything else. A chimaera (or similar flying beast) form for aerial combat without gnomish (or goblin) devices.
All that aside, one form I wouldn't mind seeing would be a gorilla. Of course the only problem with that one that I see is that if it's done badly the tauren gorilla might look like the "bull alien" from the Aliens spinoff toys. :-D
... That just gave me another idea. How about a druid version of the beast mastery skill mixed with a dash of leatherworking/blacksmithing/engineering?
A quest-based form that you choose from one of a couple of advanced forms for to suit your preference, but you only get one of them. Go for a gorilla or high-tail it to the hydra, but either way you pick one and you're stuck with it until you delete/recreate the characte...
